A Local Moderator, also known as a Local Mod or LMod, is a Community Management team member working for one of Jagex's official partners. They can be identified with a purple crown next to their name in chat, and a purple outline in the RuneScape Forums. The Local Moderator program was discontinued in 2015,[1] and revived on 3 February 2018.[2]
Roles and abilities
Local Moderators help maintain the forums and in-game community. They support the existing moderation team, such as the Community Management team and Forum Moderators, so that the moderation team have a greater availability to engage with the community and take action on their feedback.[3] Local Moderators have the ability to add a mute to a report for offences.[4]
Recognizing a Local Moderator
Local Moderators can be identified with a purple crown next to their name in chat. On the RuneScape forums, Local Moderator posts have a purple outline, and a purple crown appears under their avatar.[2]
Becoming a Local Moderator
In order to become a Local Moderator, one has to be working for the Community Management team for one of Jagex's associate businesses.[3]
