This is one of the worst written and most poorly sourced / inaccurate wikis I've ever fucking seen.
The Old Nite did not have 99 in all skills in 2004, no one had 99 in all skills in 2004. Prayer was released in rs classic, and there's a picture on this wiki page of him with cmb level 125 (definitely less than 98 prayer) in rs2! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.220.35.172 (talk • contribs)
- This wiki is nowhere near the most poorly sourced wiki. There are many pages that are well referenced, such as Zezima, and many of the articles listed in List of notable Old School RuneScape players, among others. There are many wikis that do not even contain references, so I can say with certainty this claim is not true.
- Anyway, thank you for removing the inaccurate info, this is very much appreciated. Smithing (talk | contribs) 20:30, July 25, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think a blog post written by a random player can be used as a reliable source for such a big claim. The post does not contain any form of confirmation of the death of this person, they just talk about it. Clanky1 (talk) 18:15, December 21, 2015 (UTC)
Seriously does anyone have a source for "However, before it was locked. It was stated by Mod Mat K "He had bequeathed his items in his will" allowing for his close friends' to have a memento of their friendship." Seeing as how this small sentence has several basic grammar errors makes me doubt this.
This is an interesting read from 2009: https://runescape.salmoneus.net/forums/topic/292229-the-old-nite-alive
However, this tweet from Zezima is the closest thing I've seen to a true source confirmation: https://twitter.com/zezima__rs/status/1117167193316311043
Just have a good read through the Tip It or other forum posts from May, June and July 2006. You will see many posters adding to a chorus of 'RIP' and that would be fitting... if at any time in those threads there was any real confirmation of it happening. Occasionally a poster will say that there was an official news post from Jagex or that the player's sister confirmed it, but Never, Ever provided a link or further evidence. Maybe The Old Nite died, or maybe he had had enough of the game and quit before taking on the rich man's game that was Construction. The former idea sits better with Jagex; the truth, whatever that may be, sits better with the real players.
